Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It became the number one streamed music at that period within the space of six months. The song is a blend of pop music and reggaeton did not just bring attention to reggaeton but it also attracted attention to Latin music generally. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs in 2016, compared with two for 2015. In the height of Despacito's popularity in 2017 19 songs mostly composed in Spanish were in the top 100. This number rose to 41 by 2020. After Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017 famous artists started to work with reggaeton performers. Drake and Bad Bunny worked together for the track MIA MIA (2018), while Madonna collaborated with Maluma on Medellin, 2019 The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for certain performers by 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. He often used electronic dance, as well as other styles.
