Sharon Yvonne Stone is the sole child born to Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, a tool-and-die manufacturer and former employee in a manufacturing plant. Sharon was born on 10 March 1958, at Meadville Pennsylvania. She has three siblings: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone started second grade at just five. She was considered to be academically gifted. In 1975 she was a graduate of Saegertown high school located in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). She also competed and won at the Miss Pennsylvania beauty contest. Stone and her aunt in 1977, made the move to New Jersey for a modeling job. She was signed by Ford Modeling Agency a week after. Her next move was to Europe which she was to spend a year living within Milan, Paris and other cities. Stone was disillusioned by the model business in Europe but decided to focus on acting instead. In her 20s, she starred in the Woody Allen film "Stardust Memories" which received mixed reviews.
