Shailene Woodley is an American actor and activist. She became popular with her performance as Alexandra "Alex" King, the teen who is suffering from drug addiction in The Descendants. Following her excellent performance in The Descendants she went on to play a variety of roles that showed her versatility. Shailene has been able to establish herself in Hollywood at a young age in her career, which by itself is quite an accomplishment. She started her career on commercials and television before moving on to Hollywood movies. Many awards have been won by her for her outstanding acting. This includes MTV Movie Awards as well as People's Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. Other prestigious awards such as The BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards have also been given to her. Shailene is an actress for several years, however she's also an active environmentalist. Along with her mother she founded All it Takes as a nonprofit organization in 2010. For co-founding All it Takes, she received the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award during the 20th Anniversary Global Green Environmental Awards in the year 2016.
